My current D&D campaign and the first multi-character portrait I've done since highschool, I think. If you're wondering who I am, I would be the tiny, beardless male gnome monk with the grappling hook. Pencil and ink pen

I think gnomes should be 9'4" weigh 420 pounds and resist poison... but I guess this works too 12 Love the classic d&d party pictures. They all look great, nice expressions. Can you even draw anyone without them oozing character?

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "*grin* The answer is no. Actually, I've done some bland pictures in my time, but since illustration tells a story, I find it's helpful to tell a story about whomever is the focus.

As for enormous gnomes... Apples (that would be the gnome) might have to break your knees. 12"

They look a very adequate band of adventurers, ready to go out into the world and slay some monsters/loot some treasure/rescue some people/whatever it is they like to do on their adventures. As for that grappling hook, looks like it would make a pretty mean weapon.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Sadly, the barbarian was accidentally lit on fire by the dwarf and while raging he attacked the paladin and was forced to leave the group. I'm working on an action pic of the event."

That sounds interesting...

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Come back in a couple of weeks and I'll probably have posted it. 12"

LOL... you have puffballs on your head. LOL very interesting. I thought you would say that gnome was female because of the tiny pigtails. I like the look the knight fellow is giving his failful charger though, very nice pic all together.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "-Everyone- mistakes my gnome for a girl, which is half the fun. As for the charger... it actually belongs to the shorter elf, so the knight, who doesn't have his own horse is kind of jealous. Thanks so much for commenting."

Hehehehe. Your sense of humor is great. I really like the elf with the Napoleon complex. Lemme guess...they met in a tavern and decided to venture forth in search of adventure? ;-)

I like the big guy, staring dully forward in typical guy-with-lionskin-over-head fashion. 2

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "It's a shame the wee elf and the big barbarian are gone from the campaign - the former due to death (see Rescue the Goods) and the latter due to alignment issues in the party. I liked drawing this very much."

Hello Maya! - The pic looks great! It is good to hear from other observers about your work. We (the Band of Adequate Adventurers) knew you had it in you! If they could only see the adventurers in action! They are truly missing out. Great grasp of each individual character, it foreshadows what "issues" we may have with each other...Dwarven cleric my butt!

Rich

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "*nod* Who knew how temporary this grouping would end up, eh? *laugh* Glad you like it. Thanks for commenting, deary."

I love you... Sorry but any one who knows D&D I pledge my alligiance to. The one with the grapple is a halfling right? I really like her and besides the shortedned hair she kinda reminds me of Lidda. Any way, great job!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Bwahaha, the one with the grappling hook is male and a gnome - he's a freak who can't grow a beard and wears his hair in 'apples'. But he's used to being mistaken for a female, so it's okay."

Your gnome reminds me a lot of the kender Tasslehoff in the Dragonlance series *nods*

Wow, I really appreciate this piece! My D&D group is just as varied and just as energetic - there a lot of strong personalities in this piece that you've captured beautifully. I love all the little details - the chains, the apple-buns, the wolf-skin, the lovely elven ears, their sneers. You've done gorgeously, and I'm quite impressed with it all!
